Facility has went downhill which is very sad. They let go or lost several of their best employees due to a toxic work environment that contained no support offered from corporate level management. Unsafe staffing ratios occur almost daily with one nurse being tasked to care for their max census of 80 clients regularly and many shifts with only QMAs present to perform nursing care. QMA’s act out of scope interpreting and entering Nurse Practitioner orders in an effort to keep up with client order demands which current management is aware of and rug sweeps. What used to be an excellent option for Hoosiers to receive care has now turned into a profit hungry company that has their only focus on filling all beds and billing insurance for highest level of care possible as upper management directly advises staff to disregard medical orders given and admit clients to their new detox unit, even if they do not meet the Nurse Practitioner’s admission requirements. Staff are expected to care for clients on detox unit as if they are receiving care at a psychiatric hospital. However staff have no training on how to safely de-escalate a client who is actively attempting to harm self and no available seclusion room for clients of this nature. Therapeutic staff are also not on site 24 hours a day. Many staff members are working with expired CPR credentials and mandatory state health screenings for tuberculosis are not performed in compliance with current health department regulations. The good employees left will not be able to sustain long with such toxic current management. I would recommend any past client who had a good stay keep their favorable memories intact and not return.
