Valerie Jones-Turner-Pearson, MS, LCAC, CADACII, Chief Clinical Director

Valerie has been employed as a Mental Health and Substance Abuse counselor since 2010. And has worked in the social services field for over 20 years. Education: Master’s in psychology from Martin University, and a Bachelor’s in business management from the University of Phoenix. Valerie is a Licensed Clinical Addiction and Mental Health Counselor by the state of Indiana. And is certify as CADACII by Indiana Counselor Association on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (ICAADA). Family: Married to Jimmy Pearson in 2019. When she married, she became a mother to 6 adult children and a Mimi to 14 grandchildren. which added to her own two daughters Valerie II and Epiphany. She reported that her greatest joy is her 3-year-old granddaughter Harper Marie Hall. Hobbies: Shopping, volunteering, traveling, and spending time with her family. Other information: She enjoys her journey as a Life Coach, which affords her the opportunity to work with the clients at Hickory Recovery Network and Hickory Treatment Centers, who often share with her their struggles and strengths of overcoming the disease of addiction.

Samantha Faulkner, Executive Director

Samantha Faulkner is the Executive Director at Hickory Treatment Center of Rockville. She has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Human Services and is currently obtaining her master’s degree.

Samantha is extremely driven and passionate about helping those who battle with addiction. She is dedicated to being a positive influence in the lives of those around her. Samantha is hard-working with several years of experience in both addiction and treatment. She is mindful in creating a positive and healthy atmosphere where employees and clients feel comfortable.

Samantha is eager to help clients, their families, and her employees with any challenges they face during their time with Hickory Treatment Center. She continues to advocate for recovery and is dedicated to educating others about Hickory Treatment Center of Rockville.

John S. Paulson, LMHC, LPC, ACRPS, CRADC, Clinical Director, Licensed Mental Health Therapist, Certified Addictions Counselor, Advanced Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist.

John S. Paulson joined the Hickory Recovery Network and Hickory Treatment Centers team in April 2021as a Mental Health Therapist and is the Clinical Director in Rockville, Indiana. After graduating from Wayland Baptist University, Texas in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Education with minors in Human Services and Aviation. Mr. Paulson went on to obtain his master’s degree in clinical community counseling from Adams State University, Colorado in 2008.

 Additionally, Paulson is certified to work specifically with active-duty service members, veterans, and their families through Star Behavioral Health Providers, focusing on trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder, and deployment-related sleep impairments. As a former military member himself, with personal experiences with both addiction and military trauma, he is driven to provide the highest quality of care to individuals affected with similar struggles. As an educator and leader, Paulson has worked in the addictions field for over 30 years. He has been a certified provider of addiction services since April 1994. Over the 30 years of working in the field of addictions, Mr. Paulson has worked inpatient, outpatient, community based mental health, prisons, jails, and in the military as an addiction professional. He is recognized as 1 of 5 certified instructors nationwide to be able to teach Relapse Prevention therapy to new therapists.

 In his free time, Paulson is an avid woodworker, he also enjoys spending time with his restoring his farmall cub tractors and playing with his dogs. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, 5 children, and 8 grandchildren down by his pool. Additionally, Paulson also loves being able to give back to the recovering community since he received so much help himself years ago. That is why he has dedicated his career choices to help the still suffering …..

Keith Rogers, Therapist

Keith started his career in the addictions field after his own recovery journey began in September of 2010. Keith began as a counselor and house manager for the Next Step Foundation while finishing his Associates Degree in Human Services with an Addiction Major at Ivy Tech Community College, where he graduated with honors. Keith continued his education, graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University with honors as an Addiction Counselor, while working as a counselor for Life Changes. Keith then was recruited by the Vigo County Drug Court where he fulfilled the position and duties as the coordinator for three years. While employed as the coordinator, Keith assisted the county in receiving a one-million-dollar grant, ensuring the survival of the Drug Court Program. Keith also assisted the program in recertification in 2017 and 2020. After much deliberation, Keith entered the education system again, graduating with his master’s in social work in 2020 from Indiana Wesleyan University. Keith’s strength as a clinician is building and maintaining a therapeutic alliance with those he serves. Keith is an advocate for all he serves, believing in the dignity and worth of each person he meets.

Raina Blaylock, Behavior Coordinator

Meet Raina Blaylock, the Behavior Health Coordinator for Hickory Treatment Center in Rockville. Raina attended Vincennes University for Criminal Law. Raina began her career in addictions by working for Indiana State Parole. She developed a passion for working with individuals who battle addiction. Raina is driven and motivated to maintain a professional environment for both staff and clients.

Richard Tilford, RN/DON

My Name is Richard Tilford. I am an RN/DON for Hickory Treatment Center of Rockville. My passion ever since my first rotation of clinicals in nursing school has been behavioral health and detox Treatment. I know that this is what I was created to do. My goal all my life has been and will always be to help and encourage people achieve their goals and dreams in their heart and to maintain sobriety. I am truly honored to be just a small part of a client’s journey and recovery. I believe laughter and compassion are my best tools that I bring to every situation.
