I am Richard Tilford, the Executive Director at Hickory Treatment Center of Terre Haute. I have been working at Hickory since 2021. I am a registered nurse in Indiana. I have been working in the field of mental health and addictions for the past 5 years. I chose this field because I view Hickory as the Emergency Room of recovery. I am extremely passionate about our mission because we pride ourselves on helping clients get stabilized, setting clients up with aftercare plans, and teaching clients healthy coping skills to maintain long-term sobriety. My hobbies include spending time with my children and grandchildren, traveling, and watching dueling pianos.
Elizabeth Camp, MSW, LCSW – Clinical Director
My name is Elizabeth “Beth” Camp, and I am the Clinical Director at Hickory Treatment Center of Terre Haute. I have been working at Hickory since 2021. I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work that I obtained from Indiana State University. I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Indiana.
I specialize in domestic violence and relationships, which has helped me while working in the field of addiction and mental health for the past 8 years. I chose this concentration because I am passionate about letting clients know that there will always be someone in their corner who is rooting for them to be the best possible version of themselves. In my spare time, you can find me putting together Lego sets, watching movies, or spending time with my two dogs.
Kirsten Fox, MSW, LSW – Clinical Manager
My name is Kirsten Fox, and I am the Clinical Manager at Hickory Treatment Center of Terre Haute. I have been working at Hickory since January of 2023. I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Indiana University Bloomington. I am a licensed social worker in Indiana and am currently working toward obtaining my LCSW.
I have spent the past 2 years working in the field of mental health and addictions. I chose this field because I am passionate about working with clients who have co-occurring disorders, trauma, and grief. I believe that helping clients understand the connection between substance abuse and mental health is essential to maintaining long-term sobriety. When I am not at work, I spend time with my five cats, travel, or visit too many coffee shops.
Michelle Teepe, BSN, RN – Director of Nursing
My name is Michelle “Shelly” Teepe, and I am the Director of Nursing at Hickory Treatment Center of Terre Haute. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and am working toward my Master’s Degree to become a Nurse Practitioner. I am a registered nurse in Indiana. I have 6 years of experience in the nursing field. I have been working at Hickory since March of 2021. I chose this profession because I am deeply committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to individuals struggling with addiction.
The most rewarding part of this career is being able to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop a personalized care plan that addresses the unique challenges faced by individuals seeking recovery from substance abuse. My hobbies include spending time with my kids and husband, shopping, and traveling.
Ashton Howard – BHT Manager
My name is Ashton Howard, and I am the Behavioral Health Technician Manager at Hickory Treatment Center of Terre Haute. I have been working at Hickory since 2021. I have worked in this field for three and a half years. I sought out a way to help those struggling with addiction due to having loved ones and close friends who have gone through the same struggles.
The most rewarding part of this job is welcoming the women entering the facility with open arms and treating them with the utmost respect. When not at work, you can find me spending time with family and friends, sitting around the fire, camping, and enjoying the outdoors.
Nicole Westenhaver – Asst. BHT Manager
My name is Nicole Westenhaver, but my favorite people call me “mom” or “Nicki.” I am the Assistant Behavioral Health Technician Manager at Hickory Treatment Center of Terre Haute. I have been working at Hickory for two and a half years. I have 6 years of experience working in the field of addiction and 7 years of experience in the field of mental health. I chose this field of work because I am proud to say that I have been sober for five and a half years, and it makes me even more proud to say that I get to work one-on-one with women just like me every single day. The most rewarding part of this job is being able to stand next to these women while they are on their path to sobriety. My hobbies include spending time with my dog and my children, swimming, shopping, and going out to eat.
Samantha Balder, Dietary Manager
Hello, my name is Samantha Balder. I am the Dietary Manager at Hickory Treatment Center of Terre Haute. I have been working at Hickory since October of 2021. I have 10 years of experience in management and 6 years of experience in food service. As a recovering addict myself, I know how important nutritious food is for the body, mind, and spirit. My team and I take great pride in preparing and serving meals that allow our clients to heal and feel comforted in these early stages of recovery.
When I am not here, I am a hands-on sports mom who enjoys the active life it provides. I take great pride in my backyard farm animals. I enjoy spur-of-the-moment road trips and snuggling in to watch my favorite shows to help me unwind.
Kelsey Richardson, Housekeeping Supervisor
I am Kelsey Richardson, the Housekeeping Supervisor at Hickory Treatment Center of Terre Haute. I have worked at Hickory since 2020 and have been in housekeeping for 10 years. I chose this field because I am very passionate about helping individuals who struggle with mental health and substance abuse.

My name is Cody Grizzle, and I am the Maintenance Supervisor at Hickory Treatment Center of Terre Haute. I started working with the company in 2020 at the Rockville location. I have 2 years of experience in the maintenance profession, and I have been working in the mental health and addictions field for the past 4 years. My favorite part of this job is strengthening my knowledge in many aspects of my job while priding myself on being a very hard and reliable worker.
